PART 1-WRITING
Choose one of the options below- Interview a character from your book. Write at least ten questions that will give the character the opportunity to discuss his/her thoughts and feelings about his/her role in the story. However you choose to present your interview is up to you.
- Do a collage/poster showing pictures related to the book, and then write a sentence or two beside each one to show its significance.
- Letter exchange. Create a letter exchange between a character and the author or another character. Another option is to write a series of self-reflective letters from several characters on what the character learned about himself, others, and life
- Create a childhood for a character. If your main character is an adult, try to figure out what he or she would have been like as a child. Write the story of his or her childhood in such a way that shows why he or she is the way he or she is in the novel.
- Music. After reading a novel, figure out how you would divide up the book into sections. Then select a piece of music that you think captures the feel or tone of each section. Record the pieces and if possible do voice-overs explaining what is happening in the novel during the piece of music and why you felt this piece of music fit the section of the novel.
- Draw a scene. If you are artistic, think of an important scene and draw it the way you see it. Place the characters in the scene too and then figure out where you were in relation to the characters when you read the book. Then write or tape your explanations of why you drew the scene the way you did.
- Family history. Create the history of the family of one of the main characters in your novel.
Use your own words! If I notice you've used the translator or extra help you will get ZERO points. It's better to have mistakes than to risk losing all the points.

The queen and I (Comedy)
In this hilarious fantasy, the Republican Party wins the British elections and the monarchy is dismantled. The Queen and her family are sent to live on a council estate. They must learn to budget their limited finances and the Queen must even learn to cook. It’s hard to survive without servants and staff, but the Queen doesn’t let it get her down. She’s a survivor and still a queen at heart
Pride and Prejudice (Romance)
Most middle-class young women living in 19th-century England shared the same ambition: to find and marry a rich husband. But rich husbands expected rich wives. Sisters Jane and Elizabeth Bennet come from a poor home. Is their beauty and intelligence enough to win them the husbands they desire? Will charming bachelors Charles Bingley and handsome, arrogant Mr Darcy be prejudiced by their social status or will love triumph in the end?

Video recipe
For unit 4 oral exam you are going to record yourselves cooking!
You can choose a partner or do it alone:
-If you do it alone make sure someone records you ;)
- If you have decided to choose a partner, remember that both of you have to speak during the video. So one should record only half of the video.
In this video you have to explain how to cook your favourite dish. It is a recipe so remember to make it as clear as possible.
The most original/funniest video will be rewarded, so use your imagination!
And have fun!
Send your videos to teacher.cristinatentor@gmail.com
The deadline: 24th of April. I WON'T watch any videos after that day. I'm warning you!
ASSESSMENT: here you have the rubric I'm going to use to assess your videos.
