PART 1-WRITING

Choose one of the options below

1. Interview a character from your book. Write at least ten questions that will give the character the opportunity to discuss his/her thoughts and feelings about his/her role in the story. However you choose to present your interview is up to you. 
2. Do a collage/poster showing pictures related to the book, and then write a sentence or two beside each one to show its significance. 
3. Letter exchange. Create a letter exchange between a character and the author or another character. Another option is to write a series of self-reflective letters from several characters on what the character learned about himself, others, and life 
4. Create a childhood for a character. If your main character is an adult, try to figure out what he or she would have been like as a child. Write the story of his or her childhood in such a way that shows why he or she is the way he or she is in the novel. 
5. Music. After reading a novel, figure out how you would divide up the book into sections. Then select a piece of music that you think captures the feel or tone of each section. Record the pieces and if possible do voice-overs explaining what is happening in the novel during the piece of music and why you felt this piece of music fit the section of the novel. 
6. Draw a scene. If you are artistic, think of an important scene and draw it the way you see it. Place the characters in the scene too and then figure out where you were in relation to the characters when you read the book. Then write or tape your explanations of why you drew the scene the way you did. 
7. Family history. Create the history of the family of one of the main characters in your novel.

Use your own words! If I notice you've used the translator or extra help you will get ZERO points. It's better to have mistakes than to risk losing all the points. 

PART 2-

Choose between:

A. VOCABULARY

Make up a word test for the novel. Think of fifteen words that are essential to the understanding of the book. Explain why you picked the words you did and how you would define them in terms of the story.

B-SPEAKING

You are going to record yourself talking about the book. Here are some options:
Option 1- Speak about the book

• what it is about
• what are the main characters
• what is your favourite scene and why
• what did you like/hate the most about the book?
• would you recommend the book? Why (not)?

Option 2- Try to sell the book to your classmates. Talk about...

• what the book is about
• why it is amazing
• why they should read it
• your favourite scene

PART 2- VOCABULARY

Create a glossary of the words you have learnt reading this book. Choose at least 10 words. You have to write an entry for every word. The entry needs to include the word as it appears in the text (write the sentence), the definition of the word IN ENGLISH and two sentences using that word in other contexts 

The sentences should be written by you!! I'm going to know if you'v copied them online. If I see you've copied even if it's only one sentence, you will get ZERO points for the whole project. I'm warning you!

Example

Bake: 

"When the ingredients are ready, bake the cake"

Meaning: To cook in the oven

"I love baked pasta"

"Last Saturday Sandra baked the most delicious pizza I've ever tried"

Remember!

-Write at least 8 words and definitions
-The definitions have to include WHO, WHICH, THAT, WHERE, WHEN and WHOSE
-Choose words from the vocabulary we've seen in class during the year. You have to include:
               * things (for example, clothes or food)
               * people (for example, vocabulary from the jobs [applicant, boss, intern...])
               * places  (here you can choose whatever you want: restaurants, cities, countries...but in            English! Things like '100 montaditos' are not valid)
               * time (seasons, special holidays, etc.)
